The Role
We're looking for an experienced Buyer to join the SUBTYPE Buying team! Reporting to the Head of Merchandise, you'll be responsible for developing and executing commercial buying strategies across your portfolio, ensuring the right product reaches the right customer at the right time.
Working closely with Planning, Marketing, Retail and Brand Partners, you'll analyse trends, build commercially successful assortments, manage key supplier relationships and deliver exciting product launches that drive both sales and brand relevance.
What You'll Do
• Partner with the Planner to develop seasonal buying strategies and annual financial plans.
• Build commercially successful assortments aligned to customer demand, market trends and business objectives.
• Analyse sales performance, product trends, customer insights and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
• Review brand performance, highlighting risks, opportunities and key commercial actions.
• Work closely with Planning to manage inventory, forecasting and Open to Buy (OTB).
• Manage assortment depth, size curves and product grading to maximise sales performance.
• Conduct ongoing trend research and monitor the health and relevance of assigned brands.
• Build seasonal product presentations, training materials and visual merchandising direction for Retail teams.
• Partner with Marketing and Brand Partners to deliver successful product launches and campaigns.
• Collaborate with National, State, Area and Store Managers to gather customer feedback and market insights.
• Present seasonal strategies, trends, product knowledge and brand direction to Senior Leadership and Retail teams.
• Ensure all buying activities comply with company policies, legal requirements and ethical standards.
What You'll Bring
• Previous experience as a Buyer within apparel, footwear or fashion retail.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive sales, profit and inventory performance.
• Experience building and managing supplier and brand relationships.
• Advanced Excel skills with confidence analysing data and reporting.
• Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
• A passion for premium fashion, footwear and street culture.
• A proactive attitude with a strong alignment to Accent Group's Make It Happen culture.
