Key Responsibilities

  • Order Management & Expediting: Generate, confirm, and manage purchase orders (POs) for electronic components, ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules.

  • Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers to manage delivery schedules, expedite shipments, and resolve delays in component availability.

  • Shortage Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve material shortages, utilizing alternate, authorized suppliers or rescheduling production runs when necessary.

  • BOM & Material Planning: Review Bill of Materials (BOM) to plan purchases, ensure part availability, and support new product introduction (NPI).

  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels to balance production needs with minimum inventory holding, including handling E&O (Excess and Obsolete) inventory.

  • KPI Reporting: Track vendor performance against metrics such as OTD, quality, and lead time, often presenting data in weekly reports.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Planning, Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Negotiation & Analytics: Ability to analyze material costs and negotiate favorable delivery terms.

  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
