Department:

100 - 825000 TG - PurchasingGuided by established policies and procedures, this position reviews all requisitions and places purchase orders for products needed by assigned departments with the most cost-effective source, negotiates prices, terms and conditions of purchases with vendors. Is an active member of one or more Product Analysis Committees and pro-actively strives to meet agreed-upon annual savings goals. Utilizes the Materials Management Information System; manages and updates catalog and vendor file information. Produces database reports and product cost analysis as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business related field preferred.
Two years previous healthcare purchasing is desired in order to analyze needs, evaluate circumstances and negotiate in the best interest of the employer.
Analytical skills necessary to correlate the accumulated data and use the information to do the job effectively.
Experience with Windows, word processing, materials management inventory systems, spreadsheets is preferred.
Knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO's) preferred.
Strong professional and interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing preferred.
