Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your commodity management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll ensure project execution aligns with quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) objectives, making a significant impact in driving Alstom’s strategic initiatives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including quality, engineering, and suppliers) to achieve operational goals, manage supplier relationships, and optimize sourcing strategies.
You’ll specifically take care of developing and implementing sourcing plans and managing supplier performance, but also support tender phases with RFQs and key negotiations.
We’ll look to you for:
Developing and managing programs to meet Alstom’s purchasing strategic initiatives for global and regional requirements
Managing the complete procurement process, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met
Collaborating with quality and engineering teams to set and achieve operational goals
Preparing and implementing supporting work plans
Monitoring suppliers’ performance and addressing issues such as warranties and claims
Ensuring supplier compliance with regulatory and reputational standards
Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and securing capacities to grow the business in the region
Representing the commodities towards projects and platforms, providing tailored solutions to project needs
Supporting the Commodity Manager and bid sourcing manager during tender phases
Fostering effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain
8–10 years of experience in commodity management or as a buyer in a manufacturing industry
Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and the ability to influence and convince
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in quote analysis and negotiation
Teamwork and collaboration skills
Willingness to take initiative
Ability to exercise independent judgment
Comprehensive knowledge of commodities in your area of specialization
Experience in bringing innovation and AI-led digitalization to procurement
Practiced innovation and AI-led digitalization for enhanced efficiency
