Indirect Procurement (IDP) is a global organization with highly skilled and motivated employees across the United States, Sweden, Belgium, China, Malaysia, and India. IDP is responsible for the procurement of non-production goods and services and for developing strong supplier collaborations in partnership with internal stakeholders to meet Volvo Car’s cost, quality, and sustainability efforts.
This role is part of a diverse team of Buyers operating in a fast-paced environment focused on transforming the Volvo Cars supply chain in the Americas. This is an onsite position based in Mahwah, NJ or Ridgeville, SC. Buyer level and designation will be determined based on experience.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve best-in-class Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Volvo Cars.
• Own and manage assigned commodities to maximize Return on Investment (ROI) for Volvo Cars.
• Lead supplier negotiations and execute Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
• Apply knowledge of tools, maintenance, production requirements, core suppliers, and distribution processes.
• Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with suppliers and internal partners.
• Act as a change agent by continuously challenging existing processes and driving improvement.
• Identify and present cost-saving initiatives to executive leadership.
• Collaborate with global counterparts in EMEA and APAC to optimize supply chain performance regionally and globally.
• Maintain awareness of market intelligence and technical trends to adapt sourcing strategies.
