Job Title:Buyer II

Location: Clearwater, FL / Tallahassee, FL

Department:Procurement

Reports To: Director of Purchasing

Our company seeks a charismatic, self-motivated buyer to purchase various commodities. As a Buyer II for the organization, the buyer will research, evaluate, and buy products to meet our daily operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) and select best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements
  • Responsible for purchasing raw materials required for production and/or additional items in support of all operational activities
  • Address over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates and prices, and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required
  • Seek new suppliers based on the best price, quality, availability, reliability, and customer support
  • Maintain accuracy of item master data within SAP, including but not limited to lead-time, pricing, supplier information, thorough purchase order documentation, etc.
  • Maintain purchase orders to ensure accurate quantity, pricing, and delivery while thoroughly documenting any required changes within
  • Effectively coordinate and manage Product Change Notifications
  • Negotiate and manage long-term pricing agreements for goods and services
  • Create detailed, complex cost analyses across multiple suppliers and units of measure
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Goes above and beyond the call of duty, willing to work additional hours as required
  • Organize meetings and visits with key suppliers and cross-functional teams, trade shows
  • Stay in tune with commodity spend as well as spend by supplier
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and market risks
  • Track and adhere to project timelines/deadlines
  • Negotiate favorable payment terms and credit limits with suppliers
  • Supports business case development for new product launches
  • Develop MSAs and Supplier Agreements
  • Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders
  • Other assignments as required

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Business Administration, Operations Planning, Supply Chain, or a related field preferable
  • MBA, CPM or APICS Certification desirable
  • 5+ years of related procurement experience including purchasing, inventory control, contract negotiation, supply management, supplier relationships
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA and WV)
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

  • Ability to function independently, be flexible, display personal integrity, and work effectively with all employees and departments
  • Knowledge and understanding of purchasing procedures

  • Solid ERP/MRP experience
  • Strong Relationships with supply base
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to type and operate standard office equipment daily
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel to different locations within a specific geographic area

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position.
