About the role

D-Wave is seeking Buyer II to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you will support and collaborate with our R&D Engineering and Production teams to ensure they have the materials needed to build and improve our leading-edge quantum computers. You'll work with a passionate, innovative team developing technology that is transforming how complex problems are solved.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with R&D engineering and Production teams to ensure materials areavailableforbothproduction and experimental builds
  • Generateand managerequest for quotes(RFQs)and purchase orders for electrical, mechanical, and non-productioncomponents
  • Partnerwith vendors toensure competitivepricing, quality and on-time delivery of goods and services
  • Maintainaccurateprocurementrecords, includingpricing,order confirmations,reschedules,andexpedites
  • Work with theProductionPlanner to ensuretimelyavailability ofparts for Work Orders andproactivelyexpediteas needed
  • Develop andmaintainstrongsupplierrelationships toimprovecost,qualityand lead times
  • Support supplier negotiations to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives
  • Work with Accounting to resolve purchase orderandinvoice discrepancies
  • Identifyand qualify alternative suppliers to improve supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and risk mitigation
  • Support Engineering change processes (ECOs), including updates to bills of materials (BOMs) and sourcing for new and existing products
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOM structures to support sourcing decisions
  • Resolvecomponentquality problems in cooperation with engineering and suppliers (RMA)
  • Identifyand drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, systems, and data accuracy

About You

  • Post-secondary diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Logistics,Procurement,or related field
  • 3+years' experience inprocurement withinan Engineering or Manufacturingenvironment
  • Experience managingsupplierrelationships; experience working with both Mechanical CNC and Electronics suppliers is an asset
  • Experience supporting R&D, NPI (New Product Introduction), or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments
  • Experienced working with localcomponentdistributors and industry suppliers
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to thrive independently in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Able tosupport production planning activities as needed
  • Familiaritywith ERPsystems andstrongExceland data analysis skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to understand broader business impact
  • Results oriented, customer focused and a problem solver mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation Range:  $74,000 - $110,000USD per year (New Haven CT)
