Agilent Procurement in Denmark is part of the Global Operations organization. Our Glostrup site plays a critical role in the Bioreagent and Medical Device manufacturing business within the LDG Division.

In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing raw materials and reagents that support manufacturing operations at Agilent’s Glostrup facility. You will join a local operations procurement team consisting of three colleagues based in Denmark and one colleague located in Spain.

The operational procurement team is fully staffed with three instrument buyers and two raw material buyers. As part of this team, you will collaborate closely with suppliers and both internal and external stakeholders while managing the end-to-end procure-to-pay process. The team works in close partnership with Agilent’s Strategic Procurement organization, with colleagues located in both Glostrup and the United States.

This position reports to a U.S.-based manager and offers the opportunity to work within a global, collaborative procurement environment that directly supports critical manufacturing operations.

The position:

You will generally serve as the link between internal stakeholders (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain) and external suppliers. The role is generally more strategic than an entry-level buyer but not yet at the category manager or senior sourcing level.

• Responsible for the procurement and inventory management of Agilent manufacturing materials, components, equipment and/or services in accordance with supply chain optimization and management objectives.
• Coordinates material sourcing for new product introduction (NPI) projects, in collaboration with R&D and Marketing.
• Ensures adherence to procurement procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements is a core responsibility. Provide guidance to users on purchasing systems and contribute to process improvements.
• Accountable for collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure supply chain risks are effectively identified, communicated, and mitigated.
• May be responsible for contributing to or leading process improvement efforts, such as in new product introduction (NPI), resourcing, supply chain improvements, risk mitigation/avoidance, cost reduction and/or quality.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a multinational environment, collaborating with vendors and colleagues across diverse global locations.
• May have global responsibility and/or support multiple sites.

What you will be doing:

• Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for direct and indirect materials.
• Issue and manage purchase orders (POs) in ERP systems (SAP, Ariba).
• Monitor order status, delivery schedules, and supplier performance.
• Resolve shipment delays, shortages, and invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate procurement and supplier records.
• Obtain and analyze quotations (RFQs/RFPs).
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and service levels.
• Drive cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives.
• Analyze spend data and recommend sourcing improvements.
• Support sourcing projects and supplier consolidation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline with 2 + years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or life sciences industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in supplier management, sourcing, contract negotiation, and ERP systems in a regulated environment.
• Fluent in English and effective in working within a global, multicultural organization.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across functions, geographies, and cultures while demonstrating respect, inclusion, integrity, and professionalism.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a track record of delivering cost, quality, and supply continuity objectives.

• High degree of business acumen - you are able to maneuver in a complex and dynamic work environment and you can drive decision making with clear communications and fact-based analysis.
• Self-motivated and have a high drive and level of engagement.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
