To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Buyer Direct located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the Buyer Direct is responsible for coordinating procurement activities related to direct materials, components, and production supplies required to support manufacturing operations. The position plays a critical role in ensuring material availability, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining optimal inventory levels while supporting business continuity and cost objectives.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage supplier relationships and maintain effective communication to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) based on production requirements and MRP outputs.
  • Track supplier confirmations and monitor delivery commitments.
  • Expedite critical materials to prevent production shortages.
  • Follow material shipments from supplier release through warehouse receipt.
  • Support import activities by coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics teams.
  • Validate invoices and ensure alignment between purchase orders, deliveries, and supplier billing.
  • Monitor inventory levels, avoiding shortages, excess inventory, and material obsolescence.
  • Review shortage lists, open purchase orders, and production demand changes to adjust procurement plans.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies with warehouse personnel.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews regarding price, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Approve invoices for payment and support debit/credit claim resolution.
  • Maintain procurement records, reports, metrics, and documentation.
  • Ensure purchasing data confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure materials while optimizing inventory and minimizing excess stock.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field.
  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Experience managing direct materials procurement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP processes, inventory control, and supplier management.
  • Experience supporting import operations and customs-related activities.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and SAP/ERP systems.
  • English proficiency ( written and verbal).
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
