Job Description

Purchase items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements. Plans, directs and controls activities relating to materials orders, purchasing, shipping and receiving, and the movement and storage of materials used in the manufacturing of Hubbell Arden. Involvement in promoting and driving continuous improvement in all processes within the plant.

A Day In The Life

  • Responsible for purchasing components and/or raw materials from initial negotiation through final completion of a contract
  • Responsible for preparing facility KPI and individual performance reports for all areas of the facility
  • Assist in negotiation with the new suppliers to obtain best quality material at the lowest price
  • Responsible for material planning, purchasing, and coordinates deliveries according to material requirements schedule located in SAP
  • Develop action plan with suppliers to resolve any issues regarding quality, on time delivery, or shipping damage
  • Assist accounting on the outstanding invoices for payment per negotiated guidelines
  • React to engineering changes or new products, ensuring the availability of material at the appropriate inventory level
  • Perform other purchasing functions in the plant as requested
  • Assist in coordinating and completing annual physical inventory
  • Drive continuous improvement within supplier organization and reporting processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Technical or Business Field or equivalent work experience is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • SAP ERP Experience
  • APICS or CPIM Certification
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience in Electrical or Electronic procurement
  • Strong cost negotiation and supplier management skills
