We are seeking an organized and proactive Buyer/ Planner to join our team. This role involves managing the end-to-end procurement process for direct and indirect materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance. The ideal candidate will foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while effectively coordinating purchasing and planning activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and convert requisitions to purchase orders, on a daily basis
Review production schedules, to ensure On time delivery of raw materials
Cross-train to backfill a few other select areas in Planning and/or Purchasing
Ensure compliance with the companies Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, Values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations
Communicate and follow up with suppliers in order to schedule purchase orders based on production requirements, forecast or stocking level to ensure timely delivery to customers of finished products
The effective coordination of the material planning, purchasing and production scheduling function and ensuring timely delivery to customers of finished products
Purchase finished goods from outside suppliers in accordance to MRP requirements and customer orders required dates
Confirm supplier delivery dates for purchased material action MRP messages- Expedite, De-Expedite and Cancel
Update SAP with new or confirmed delivery dates
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in procurement, direct and indirect materials.
- Production Planning and scheduling a plus
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with procurement software SAP and data management tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Transparency
Chemelex’s pay scale is based on the expected range of compensation for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $75k - $108k
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
