Job Description

We have a great opportunity to join Emerson as our Buyer, you will be responsible for building business relation with new vendors - setting up new purchasing routines for new material required (mainly for new products implementation and production transfers) – define vendors, pricing, minimum orders quantities.

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting new product introductions, production transfers, and supply chain continuity by developing and managing relationships with suppliers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Commodity Managers, Supplier Development Specialists, Engineering, and Planning teams to ensure the availability of materials while optimizing costs, inventory levels, and supplier performance.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Establish and develop relationships with new suppliers to support new product introductions and production transfer activities.

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers while defining purchasing parameters, pricing structures, and minimum order quantities required for new materials and components.

  • Coordinate the ordering and procurement of samples, raw materials, and components required for product development, testing, qualification, and implementation projects.

  • Support Commodity Managers in supplier selection activities and the development of sourcing strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Maintain and update supplier, pricing, and purchasing information within ERP systems to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.

  • Provide daily support to Material Planning teams by resolving supply-related issues, escalating material shortages, and coordinating corrective actions with suppliers.

  • Manage material phase-in and phase-out activities, working closely with Engineering, Design, and Purchasing teams to ensure smooth product transitions and minimize supply risks.

  • Analyze supplier performance and supply chain effectiveness, identifying opportunities to improve service levels, reduce costs, and increase supply chain flexibility.

  • Contribute to inventory optimization initiatives while ensuring continuity of supply and alignment with customer and production requirements.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects focused on supply chain improvement, supplier development, and operational excellence.

You are a proactive and detail-oriented procurement professional who excels at building strong supplier relationships and navigating complex supply chain challenges. You possess strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, allowing you to balance cost, quality, and delivery objectives while supporting business growth. You communicate effectively across functions, manage multiple priorities successfully, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and supplier performance.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of technical drawings and manufacturing-related purchasing processes.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and procurement data management.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and project coordination abilities.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or production transfer projects.
  • Knowledge of supplier development and strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Experience working in a global manufacturing organization.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and supply chain optimization initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier performance and procurement metrics.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and supply chain excellence.
