Job Description

Job Title: Buyer

Connectronics Corp., a U.S. manufacturer of specialized electronic connectors including high-voltage interconnects, aerospace connectors, underwater connectors, high current connectors, and multi-pin cable assemblies has an opening in Toledo, OH for a Buyer to join our Purchasing Team. This position will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials and components essential for manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Sourcing potential suppliers based on price, quality, and availability of parts and components.
  • Soliciting quotes from potential suppliers for items needed for production.
  • Negotiating pricing and delivery terms for contractual agreements.
  • Tracking the status of purchase order for the delivery of goods and verifying the product quality meets specifications.
  • Initiating return process for parts that fall short of expectations.
  • Working with the ERP system to maintain the necessary data for quotes, purchased parts, part creation, and reports.
  • Communicating product or supplier concerns and opportunities with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with vendors to sustain strong relationships.
  • Coordinating with product development and engineering to support new product introductions.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate’s degree in purchasing, supply chain management, or other related business fields or 3-5 years’ experience in Purchasing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing and tactical purchasing, including purchase order management and supplier negotiations.
  • Proficiency with ERP system, preferably Great Plains
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple initiatives and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in manufacturing and reading drawings/blueprints a plus.
  • Able to learn and understand the products being purchased and produced.
