Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Cooperation with related department and give necessary support on vendor scouring and all purchasing related activities to ensue on time execution and quality products that could meet or exceed internal/external customer’s expectations to ensure business running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for purchasing, qualification, RFQ, commercial negotiate for appointed raw materials & products.
  • Communicate with suppliers for updated purchase information such as price, payment terms, lead-time and so on.
  • Follow up suppliers on order acknowledgement, delivery plan and shipping schedule so that materials and products ordered could arrive on time and in time.
  • Support planner to well control material inventory value and level.
  • Drive the continuous improvement for better material manage and cost control and support localize the qualified products/vendors for better supply.
  • Support NPI process, coordinate with other departments for new material/product sourcing inquiring and purchasing.
  • Liaising effectively with global peers to gain or provide support where required.
  • Lodge claims with suppliers on material quality problems and communicate with QD.
  • Implementation the purchasing governance processes in compliance approach.
  • Maintain master data, prepare monthly reports and manage information and data as required.
  • Backup as MRO purchasing.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor degree, engineering background is preferred

Required Skills. Competencies, or Certification

  • Required by Legal or QEHS:

    • Know EHS relevant law and regulations
    • Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements).

    Competencies (knowledge, skills, and behaviors)

    • 2-3 years working experience, at least 1 year working as buyer
    • Fluent oral and written English and mandarin
    • Computer skills, Word, Excel and PPT skills
    • Good communication and negotiation skill
