The Buyer will be responsible for driving procurement, supplier performance, and Supply Chain Cost Out (Supplier Transition) projects. This role requires strong leadership internally as well as with suppliers, precise order management, and clear communication. The Buyer must manager multiple priorities in a global supply chain.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Procurement &SourcingOwnanend-to-end procurement process — including RFQ preparation, quote analysis, supplier selection, price and term negotiation, PO placement, and order follow-up — in accordance with internal proceduresand in alignment with system demand (ERP), technical drawings, qualified manufacturer listings (QML/QPL), and applicable customer or regulatory documentation.
  • Delivery Management:Own end-to-end purchase order delivery management, including supplier schedule alignment,expediting, recovery planning, and risk mitigation to ensure on-time fulfillment of production demand.
  • Supplier Relationship Management Develop, Onboard, and Manage supplier performance followingprocesses andleveragingbusiness reviews,scorecardsand othertools
  • Supportstrategic sourcing initiatives todrive Cost Out at the commodity level.
  • Collaboratewithcross-functional teams forlogistics, discrepant material resolution, project needs,documentationrequirements.
  • Support process improvement, daily standups
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’sor certifications such as CPSM/CPIM preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in procurement withfocuson machined components, forgings, castings, or similar technical commodities.
  • Background in mechanical engineeringa plus
  • Strong knowledge of industrial supply chain standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements; Knowledge of Oil & Gasindustrya plus.
  • Demonstrated success in managingprojects.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)andwithabilityto work across cultures and time zones.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft applications, ERP systems (Epicorpreferred, SAP, Oracle), and LEAN principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • This is an in-office position, based out of Santa Fe Springs, CA
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Flexible schedule, including early morning starts and some weekend hours to support our global sales and projects teams.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Some travel may be required, up to 10%
