Job Title:  Buyer

Location  Bensenville, Illinois

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for sourcing/purchasing of:
  • machine parts or related hardware
  • grinding supplies
  • glass bead room/work area materials or supplies
  • all other production-related materials including tools, and safety or general supplies
  • shipping supplies
  • Responsible for sourcing/purchasing laser and pressbrake parts or other consumables

• Shared responsibility with facilities for ordering building supplies, such as filters, equipment parts, fixture components, etc.                 
• Oversees management of tool repairs, including tracking the current working inventory
• Manages part vendor relationships; negotiates contract terms and contracting process; expedites scheduling of parts deliveries and tracks shipping when parts will be available; sources new vendors while maintaining current relationships
• Manages supplier relationships, including site visits, product education, trouble shooting to find better products or identifying new tools that would improve product quality
• Supports production by trouble shooting issues if machinery is not functioning correctly
• Supports the job quoting process with engineers as they identify parts or supplies needed to complete jobs and then assists going out to suppliers to get quotes
• Completes an annual re-evaluation of all vendors and current pricing agreements, in support of negotiating for better pricing and reducing production costs
• Supports value stream team cost reduction strategies and goal setting

Qualifications:

• BS in Business
• Intermediate level Computer Skills in Microsoft Office
• Negotiation Skills
• Analyze data
• Communicate with vendors

Value Stream Responsibilities:

• Participate in continuous improvement program
• Attend value stream meetings bi-weekly
• Participate in required value stream training
