Could you be the full-time Buyer in Taubaté we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your sourcing and supplier management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a key role in managing supplier relationships and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Commodity Managers, project teams, and internal stakeholders), coordinate supplier negotiations, and ensure alignment with Alstom’s sourcing processes and ethical guidelines.

You’ll specifically take care of supplier performance monitoring and project coordination, but also contribute to commodity strategies and tender phases.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Supporting global supplier panel relationships and managing specific supplier relationships, including negotiations and local supplier QCDT (Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Technology) performance.

  • Monitoring day-to-day supplier performance and addressing initial issues before escalation.

  • Ensuring compliance with Alstom’s Code of Ethics and guidelines.

  • Consolidating commodity needs and actively participating in the development of commodity strategies and panels.

  • Providing inputs to build differentiation and supporting Commodity Managers during tender phases.

  • Representing commodities to projects, platforms, and solutions and fostering effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders.

  • Coordinating projects with all Metiers and preparing and launching Request for Quotations (RFQs) with suppliers using standard tools.

  • Leading project negotiations and monitoring sourcing project QCDT and legal project evolution.

  • Preparing Business Awards and ensuring work package sheet commitments are met.

  • Promoting Alstom’s Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering).

  • 4-5 years of experience in sourcing or supplier management.

  • Knowledgeable in ERP material management (e.g., master data, purchase order management).

  • Strong ability to deal quickly and effectively with a variety of topics and summarize critical issues.

  • Effective communication skills and result-driven mindset.

  • Experience in remote and multicultural management.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Proficiency in English at an advanced level.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling.

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.

  • Contribute to innovative projects that make a real impact.

  • Utilise our dynamic and inclusive working environment.

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs.

  • Progress towards leadership roles or specialized expertise areas.

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
