Job Description

1. Reviews and checks for accuracy, specification and need and processes all approved orders and requisitions.
2. Places all orders with vendors and distributors utilizing phone or automatic order entry.
3. Verifies all packing slips against purchase orders
4. Interfaces directly with Accounts Payable in instances where price discrepancies exist between the purchase order and invoice. Approves short payments to distributors for the invoiced price.
5. Reports all major or consistent price discrepancies to the Materials Management Director.
6. Coordinates all product returns with various vendors and the Materials Handler.
7. Assists the Materials Management Director with market trend studies and cost analysis
8. Assists Materials Management Director with solicitation of bids, review of pertinent data and negotiations.
9. Interfaces directly with department managers in relation to procurement to establish specification and need.
10. Reviews back orders and expedites orders when necessary.
11. Reviews various month-end data to ensure accuracy and forwards to the Martials Management Director.

12. Processes paper flow according to proper procedure in the most time efficient manner.
13. Prioritizes responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.
14. Maintains and accurate filing system for purchase orders and requisitions.
15. Processes all par sheets according to proper procedures.
16. Updates, catalogs, price list, and product vendor files as needed.
17. Interfaces directly with sales representatives to ensure price competition and accuracies.
18. Communicates with all departments in relation to requisitions and orders that are in progress.
19. Performs additional task as assigned by the Materials Management Director, which may include performing the director’s duties when needed.
