Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Procuring direct, indirect and shop supplies, services and equipment as required.
• Planning and issuing PO’s to suppliers based on material requirements.
• Generate cost savings via negotiating, alternate sourcing or process improvements.
• Drive inventory reduction using lean principles internally and externally.
• Improve material flow thru lean manufacturing systems internally and with external suppliers.
• Develop and implement system improvements through Oracle and Excel to better support production, reporting of metrics and improve material flow.
• First point of escalation to resolve supplier issues and concerns.
• Effective and efficient transition of new materials into the supply chain.
• Resolve A/P issues.
Education/ Skills/ Experience:
• BS/BA Degree with a minimum of three to five years experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
• Certifications of CPM and/or CPIM are preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and negotiate contracts, strategic agreements, financial reports and legal documents
• Lean experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred.
• Excellent communications skills with business partners in all levels of the organization in a cross cultural environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Some travel may be required.
