Buyer
Location: Kansas City, MO
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
About the Role
The Buyer is a key member of the EnSight Solutions Purchasing team, partnering with Engineering, Sales, Planning, and Production to procure materials that support efficient, cost effective manufacturing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, collaboration, and working in a fast paced environment.
What You’ll Do
• Create and manage purchase orders; track due dates and supplier performance
• Monitor inventory levels and material requirements
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Production to identify suppliers and materials
• Manage assigned purchasing categories
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Partner with the Purchasing Manager on cost savings and sourcing initiatives
• Participate in quarterly supplier performance meetings
• Support offsite locations as needed
What You Bring
• Experience:
◦ 2+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
◦ 1+ year using ERP systems (Syteline preferred)
• Education:
◦ Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (preferred)
• Skills:
◦ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
◦ Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
◦ Detail oriented, adaptable, and action oriented
◦ High integrity and continuous improvement mindset
◦ Team focused with the ability to work independently
Travel
• Up to 10% travel may be required
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Use hands and arms for handling materials
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception
