Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Review purchasing requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procurement policies and procedures
• Support local requesters in Oracle iProcurement, including training, troubleshooting, and workflow guidance
• Liaise daily with the global ordering procurement team (Malaysia) to support PO placement, order follow-up, and issue resolution
• Capture and drive negotiation opportunities within the PR process
• Assist Logistics with material planning and supplier forecasting
• Drive supplier performance management and supplier relationship development
• Identify and execute negotiation and sourcing opportunities
• Conduct risk analysis to mitigate supply chain disruptions
• Support development and execution of category strategies
• Prepare and develop monthly KPI reporting and purchasing reports
• Ensure compliance with internal and external supply agreements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within Procurement
• Act as backup in PR/PO/IR handling, goods receiving, and daily purchasing activities

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 2–5 years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Post high-school education within Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, including experience driving total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements.
• Ability to work proactively, systematically, and with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers globally.
• Ability to read and interpret legal documents such as contracts.
• Proficiency in Oracle (highly advantageous) or SAP, as well as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent across functions and global sites.
