Position Summary
Hollingsworth, a leader in third-party logistics services with over 30 years of expertise, is expanding our dynamic internal purchasing team. We are looking for a motivated Buyer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and possesses a foundational understanding of procurement processes. This role is ideal for entry-mid level candidates who have some purchasing experience and are eager to develop their skills in supplier management and negotiation.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Inventory Management: Utilize daily inventory replenishment reports to identify materials needed for purchase, ensuring alignment with customer demand.
Supplier Engagement: Actively negotiate with suppliers to meet customer requirements, fostering strong relationships to achieve optimal outcomes.
Problem Resolution: Quickly identify and document any issues related to product quality or processes, facilitating prompt resolutions through designated channels.
Order Placement: Efficiently place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery in compliance with company standards.
Data Management: Enter and maintain accurate records in our online systems, ensuring all purchase order information is complete and correct.
Communication: Keep management informed about any challenges or potential issues, while providing proactive suggestions for improving efficiency and performance.
Documentation: Assist in the development and maintenance of standard work instructions related to purchasing responsibilities.
Vendor Follow-Up: Engage proactively with vendors to verify that delivery schedules are met and any issues are resolved swiftly.
Professional Development: Participate in team-building activities and continuous learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience or relevant business exposure.
• Availability to work in the Dearborn office at least 4 days a week.
