Our Client
Founded over five decades ago, our client is a family-run business which has grown into one of the UKs top importers and wholesale distributors of value-driven everyday products. Led by their Managing Director, they are dedicated to sourcing and supplying high-quality products that meet market demands, delivering them with efficiency and precision.
They are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to take charge of their seasonal festive product portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to lead the development and sourcing of a diverse range of approximately 1,800 products, working with global suppliers to deliver exceptional value to our customers.
As the Buyer for our clients festive range, you will oversee the end-to-end management of the seasonal product line. You'll bring a passion for sourcing high-quality products, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and align with our company's commitment to delivering outstanding value to customers.
Key responsibilities include:
Sourcing and securing products and suppliers from global markets.
Managing and negotiating contracts with existing supplier networks.
Overseeing category development and product range planning based on market demand.
Analysing business trends and data to inform strategic decisions.
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, managing contract negotiations, onboarding, and renewals.
Working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
About You
You are an experienced professional with a deep understanding of procurement processes, ideally within the seasonal goods sector (e.g., festive or Christmas products). You possess strong commercial instincts and exceptional relationship-building skills.
Essential skills and attributes:
Proven expertise in procurement or buying, preferably in seasonal products.
Ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
Strong organisational skills and a drive to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Sharp analytical and numerical abilities.
A creative approach to problem-solving and product selection.
A customer-focused mindset when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Effective time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Adaptability to shifting business needs.
