This position is responsible for executing sourcing and project-related purchasing activities in
alignment with the needs of Power Generation Solutions Team (PGS). The Buyer will support internal
stakeholders by managing supplier relationships, issuing purchase orders, and helping control
procurement costs while ensuring material deliveries align with project schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sourcing
• Support Sourcing team to prepare and facilitate requests for proposals (RFPs), obtain supplier quotes,
and compile price analysis and bids with focus on substation equipment and materials.
• Identify, recommend and execute cost-saving opportunities through alternative materials, suppliers,
and processes.
Purchasing
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with established procedures
and project schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate the best terms, pricing, delivery, and quality requirements.
• Support projects to monitor and provide updates related to delivery schedules updates for equipment
and materials, adjusting expected dates in scheduling system in coordination with stakeholders.
• Support to track and control purchasing costs to support project budgets.
• Collaborate with PGS group to validate material specs approvals, substitutions and replacements
when needed.
• Support internal reporting by tracking metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and delivery
reliability.
• Occasionally travel to project sites to meet with Logistics and PGS group to understand material and
delivery challenges.
• Assist in identifying process improvements to support continuous improvement in Supply Chain
operations.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 2+ years of Supply Chain experience required.
• APICS Supply Chain Certification a plus.
• Process-oriented mindset.
• Proactive and organized with attention to detail
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
