Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Buyer III / Senior Contracts Agent to lead complex sourcing, procurement, and contracting activities supporting major generation and construction projects.

This role will manage the full procurement lifecycle from RFI/RFP development and strategic sourcing through contract negotiation, administration, change management, claims resolution, and closeout. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in contract law, supplier negotiations, cost and price analysis, sourcing strategy, risk management, and large-scale project procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage sourcing and contracting activities from cradle to grave.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for equipment, services, and major construction projects.
  • Lead:
  • RFIs
  • RFPs
  • Pre-bid meetings
  • Supplier evaluations
  • Cost and price analysis
  • Commercial negotiations
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, master agreements, Statements of Work, NDAs, amendments, and other procurement documents.
  • Draft advanced contract language and special conditions for complex, non-standard agreements.
  • Manage contract administration, changes, expediting, claims, follow-up, and closeout.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for high-risk and high-value services.
  • Manage multiple major construction procurement projects simultaneously.
  • Identify and evaluate domestic and global suppliers through market research and supplier analysis.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery requirements, risk allocation, and other commercial terms.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk Management, Accounting, project teams, and business stakeholders to resolve contract exceptions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers while protecting company interests.
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for procurement and supply-chain risks.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and procurement procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10–15 years of procurement, sourcing, contracts, or related supply chain experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Supply Chain Management experience required.
  • Strong experience with complex contract negotiation and drafting.
  • Knowledge of contract law, contract formation, remedies, dispute resolution, and commercial terms.
  • Experience leading RFI/RFP and strategic sourcing processes.
  • Strong cost and price analysis skills.
  • Experience managing supplier and contractor relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Law, or related field.
  • Formal education in supply chain, project management, or law.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or related procurement credentials.
  • Experience supporting generation, utility, construction, engineering, or energy projects.
  • Experience with enterprise procurement and contracting systems.
  • Global sourcing and international supplier experience.
  • Experience negotiating complex construction, equipment, or service contracts.
