Join WAVE and play a key role in supporting the procurement activities that keep our manufacturing and business operations running efficiently. As a Procurement Specialist / Buyer I, you will work across multiple functions and locations, partnering with internal teams and suppliers to source materials and services, manage purchasing activities, analyze spending trends, and support strategic procurement initiatives.

This position offers the opportunity to build relationships across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, and supplier partners while gaining exposure to sourcing, supplier management, procurement analytics, compliance, and business operations. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring the right goods and services are available at the right time, cost, and quality to support WAVE's continued success.

We are looking for a proactive, analytical, and customer-focused professional who enjoys solving problems, managing priorities, and collaborating with others to deliver results in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure indirect materials, equipment, services, and maintenance-related purchases that support WAVE operations across multiple locations.
  • Manage the purchasing process from supplier quotation through purchase order creation, order tracking, and delivery coordination.
  • Evaluate suppliers and sourcing alternatives to support cost savings, quality, service, business continuity, and operational requirements.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for purchasing inquiries, delivery issues, and performance-related concerns.
  • Support supplier onboarding, contract administration, and compliance activities, ensuring required documentation and records are maintained.
  • Monitor supplier performance and open orders, expediting critical purchases and resolving supply, delivery, or service issues as needed.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to understand business requirements and support purchasing needs.
  • Prepare and analyze procurement data, including spend reports, supplier metrics, savings opportunities, and key performance indicators.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes, reporting capabilities, supplier engagement, and overall efficiency.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, sourcing standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, supply chain, vendor management, finance, accounts payable, or related business functions.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environment preferred.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, purchasing platforms, supplier portals, or financial systems.
  • Experience managing purchase orders, supplier communications, contract administration, spend analysis, or procurement reporting.
  • Working knowledge of sourcing methodologies, supplier management, and purchasing processes.
  • Experience using SAP, Power BI, Power Apps, or similar business systems preferred.
  • Professional certifications or coursework in procurement, supply chain, operations, or business disciplines are a plus.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to analyze purchasing and supplier data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information appropriately.

Compensation and Benefits

Hiring Range: $61,583 - $75,383 annually

Individual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, certifications, internal equity, and business considerations.
