Wellington Management is seeking motivated undergraduate students to join our 2027 Business Undergraduate Summer Internship Program. This 10-week paid internship provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to the investment management industry.
Interns will work full-time (40 hours/week) at our Boston headquarters starting June 2027. Interns are also eligible for a housing stipend and a flexible work model that includes four days per week in the office and one remote workday.
This program is designed to help students build professional skills, explore career paths, and contribute to meaningful projects alongside experienced professionals.
As a summer intern, you will join a team within Wellington’s Client, Investment or Infrastructure platforms and gain exposure to the business functions that support a leading global investment management firm.

Client Platform – The Client Platform is a global team focused on building and deepening relationships with prospects, clients, and consultants. Working closely with Wellington's investment professionals, the team helps clients navigate complex investment challenges, understand their unique objectives, and identify the investment strategies, portfolios, and solutions best suited to their needs. The platform includes professionals across business development, relationship management, and product management who support a diverse range of institutional investors, including public pension funds, central banks, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, retirement plan sponsors, and mutual fund sponsors. Responsibilities may include analyzing new business opportunities by region or channel, supporting business analytics, conducting competitive analysis and due diligence, engaging with Wellington’s evolving technologies and client-related applications, and helping evaluate investment opportunities.
Finance – The Finance team provides financial stewardship and strategic support across Wellington's global business. Through financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, expense management, tax, and corporate finance activities, the team helps guide business decisions, allocate resources, and support the firm's long-term growth. Interns may contribute to financial analysis and modeling, budgeting processes, management reporting, tax research, and other projects that provide insight into how a global investment management firm operates.
Global Operations – This function drives the firm's operational edge to exceed the investment and service expectations of our clients worldwide. Working across investment, client, and infrastructure teams, the group designs and executes the processes, controls, and infrastructure that support Wellington's world-class investment strategies and client relationships. The team plays a critical role in supporting client onboarding and servicing, investment activities, operational reporting, and responding to the evolving needs of our global client base. Interns will gain a practical understanding of how operational processes are built to deliver scalability, risk mitigation, service excellence, and a high-quality client experience.
Legal, Compliance & Risk – Help the firm operate effectively in a complex regulatory environment with evolving compliance programs, you will contribute to the completion of risk-mitigating projects, and conduct analysis and reporting. Responsibilities may include tagging and analyzing key risk management metrics, gaining proficiencies in regulatory requirements of regimes applicable to a US investment adviser, assisting with due diligence process for new and critical vendors, and assisting with the testing of control design and effectiveness.
Investment Implementation & Trading – Opportunity to gain practical experience in the dynamic world of markets and trading. Responsibilities may include supporting the firm’s domestic and international post-execution trade activities, interacting with traders and brokers, and conducting trading data analysis. You will gain a solid foundation in trading and trade confirmation practices associated with today’s global financial markets. You will learn about a variety of markets, the role of trading at Wellington, the trade lifecycle, and how we work with portfolio managers who invest on behalf of our clients. Additionally, you will gain experience in industry applications such as Bloomberg, and CTM.
