Job Description

To lead and manage the Business Technology and Architecture function by defining and driving the Bank’s IT strategy and enterprise architecture in alignment with business objectives. The role is accountable for shaping technology direction, overseeing emerging technologies, and managing the IT Project Management Office to enable innovative services and support the Bank’s strategic goals.

Are you someone who can:

  • Provides industry related expertise and understands the potential impact of global trends on the organisation.
  • Encourages innovation to ensure continued effectiveness.
  • Manages the Company's IT strategy, architecture, roadmap and business cases within governed processes ensuring their currency and relevancy to changes in business strategy in response to regulatory, market and key technology developments.
  • Provides guidance where required on architecture options, next generation solutions/services and the impact thereof.
  • Ensures the portfolio of change, driven through prioritized business and IT change requirements, is optimized to provide business value.
  • Ensures the portfolio of change can be delivered through suppliers of application, infrastructure, data and security frameworks including IT impact assessment and cost management of business change.
  • Works closely with the leaders to embed the frameworks for architecture and technical quality assurance and ensure they are adhered to.
  • Partners with IT and Business leaders to evolve business capabilities through innovative yet pragmatic IT architectures.
  • Plans financial requirements for division.
  • Plans systems and technology requirements and enablers for area of responsibility.
  • Develops measurement metrics to evaluate business performance and behaviour across area of responsibility using benchmarked methodologies.
  • Benchmarks internal practices against industry standards to establish best practices.
  • Plans, secures and controls the annual budgets for area of responsibility.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Drives customer excellence through the effective interaction with internal and external customers aligned to the strategy.
  • Identifies and participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own development.
  • Implements performance management across the area of responsibility.
  • Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own and staff development in area of responsibility.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have an NQF level 7 or similar qualification
  • Have 15 years of experience in a business tech & architect role
  • Have 5 years' experience in a leadership role
