Job Description
Primary Purpose:
To provide students with knowledge and skills in business concepts, finance, entrepreneurship, and career readiness, while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy through engaging instruction aligned with the district's curriculum and TEKS standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teacher certification in Business and Finance (Grades 6�12)
- Demonstrated knowledge of business principles, computer applications, and career/technical education
- Prior teaching experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional:
- Develop and deliver lessons aligned with TEKS for business education courses (e.g., Principles of Business, Marketing & Finance; Money Matters; Business Information Management).
- Utilize technology and project-based learning to engage students in real-world business applications.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Classroom Management:
- Create a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and campus policies.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other CTE staff, core content teachers, and counselors to support student academic and career success.
- Attend department meetings, ARD/504/RTI meetings as necessary.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and progress.
- Participate in professional development and implement strategies learned.
- Comply with all district policies and administrative regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and lifting
- Regular exposure to computer screen time
- May involve local travel for competitions or career events
- *Minimum Salary $67,200 for fully certified teachers
- *Salary is commensurate with experience
- *Works 187 Day Calendar
- * Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
