Job Description
Serves as a key liaison between Revenue Cycle operations and Information Services to support the design, optimization, and use of Epic Professional Billing applications and workflows for the Swedish Medical Group (SMG) professional billing team.
This role is highly embedded within operations and partners closely with frontline teams, cross-functional departments, and leadership to identify workflow and system improvement opportunities.
Responsible for proactively identifying issues within work queues, reporting, and system configuration, and supporting implementation of solutions that improve efficiency, reduce denials, and support accurate revenue capture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with operational users and IS teams to identify and resolve system issues
- Monitor work queues and reporting (Anodyne, Reporting Workbench, Clarity, SlicerDicer, Excel) to identify trends and issues
- Analyze workflows and system configuration to identify gaps or inefficiencies
- Translate business needs into system requirements and enhancement requests
- Support optimization of work queues, denial reduction, and charge capture processes
- Provide troubleshooting support for end users
- Support build intake and coordination with IS
- Participate in testing and implementation of system changes
- Contribute to projects including work queue optimization and denial reduction
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams
- Develop training materials and job aids
- Understanding or experience with Claim Edit Rules, Follow Up Rules
- Experience with Epic build around claim edits, routing logic, department and provider profile builds.
- Work collaboratively across workgroups and meetings to gather and communicate updates, key discussion points, and training needs affecting Revenue Cycle stakeholders.
- Facilitate information sharing to promote alignment, support operational readiness, and keep teams informed of process changes, initiatives, and organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: Formal technical training, especially in data resource management principals
- Upon hire: Certification in Epic Resolute Professional Billing Administration I & II, but can be obtained while in position
- 5 years progressively more responsible work experience in a health care business office
- Data control functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent education/healthcare billing experience, including formal job training, may be substituted for each year of college not completed. This equivalency is in addition to what is required in the experience section.
- Upon hire: Certification or proficiency obtained in Epic Resolute Professional Billing Claims and Epic Resolute Professional Billing Electronic Remittance
- Strong understanding of work queues, denials, and charge capture
- Ability to proactively identify issues in workflows, reporting, and system build

- Ability to translate operational needs into system requirements
- Experience troubleshooting system and workflow issues
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
