Job Description

Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together. We believe in the importance of in‑office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Advisor, Wealth & Asset Management Technology (AWAT) partners closely with Schwab Asset Management and Wealth & Advice Solutions to deliver technology that supports investment decision‑making, risk monitoring, and regulatory alignment. As a Senior Specialist, Business Systems Analysis, you will play a critical role in shaping solutions that support investment risk and investment guidelines platforms.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of business and technology—partnering with product owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex investment and risk needs into clear, actionable requirements. You’ll contribute within an Agile environment where collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement are essential, and where your work directly supports better outcomes for clients and the teams who serve them.

You will have opportunities to deepen your business knowledge, strengthen your technical and analytical skills, and grow your career within a firm that values integrity, teamwork, and long‑term development.

What You Will Do

  • Translate business needs into clear, well‑defined functional requirements that enable scalable and reliable technology solutions
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements, priorities, and outcomes
  • Facilitate requirements‑gathering sessions, workshops, and discussions with cross‑functional partners
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as user stories, business rules, functional specifications, and process flows
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and solution delivery
  • Partner with quality assurance teams to develop user acceptance test scenarios and support end‑to‑end testing activities
  • Support user acceptance testing by coordinating activities, validating outcomes, and ensuring readiness for release
  • Analyze data and system behavior to support risk monitoring, issue investigation, and continuous improvement
  • Adapt to evolving priorities while managing multiple workstreams with attention to quality and timeliness

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a business systems analyst, business analyst, or in a related role supporting technology solutions
  • Experience supporting asset management, investment risk, or investment guidelines platforms
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, structured requirements that technical teams can execute
  • Ability to use SQL or similar tools to query and analyze large datasets for reconciliation, investigation, or reporting

  • Demonstrated skill in gathering requirements through collaboration, active listening, and thoughtful questioning
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, including writing user stories and supporting iterative delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data, identify risks, and recommend solutions
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of financial data structures, data flows, and enterprise data platforms within large organizations
  • Familiarity with equity, fixed income, and multi‑asset investment products
  • Confidence presenting ideas, findings, and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within cross‑functional teams and contribute to shared goals
