Reporting to thePractice Leaderof theBSAteam,you’llpartner with atalentedteam ofBSAswhowillplay a critical role indelivering modernizations, enhancements, and new product launches across the Interac ecosystemYou’llbe part of thedelivery ofhigh-quality system requirements that support strategic business goals, cross-functional alignment, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What YouWillDo

  • Experience partnering with Payments Canada, e.g., Elaboration,maintainingdocument andvalidatingfunctional and non-functional systemre

  • Passion and understandingofthe nuancesinvolved inbank-to-bankmodernization solutions

  • Adopting,implementingand operationalising best practices with the goal of great customer systems (JIRA board) and ensuring sync of the internal Interac approach

  • Good understandingof ISO 20022 Payment file formats

  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools, e.g., SQL, Power BI

  • Comfortable with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence); user management, site creation, project creation, workflow

  • Eliciting,documentingandvalidatingfunctional and non-functional system requirements in collaboration with business clients, endusersand project stakeholders

  • Performing analysis ofnew technologiesand standards inmoney movement bank-to-bank networksand the impacts on Interac solutions

  • Collaborating in the planning, designing, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications

  • Performing requirements coverage and impact analysis through traceability of system requirements to business requirements,solutionand test cases

  • Collaborating with external vendors and internal ITteamsduring their development phase and providing clarity on requirements and specifications

  • Partnering the certification and testing teams by providing interpretation of business functions and specifications

  • Balancing theneeds of variousproduct/projectdeliverymethodologiesdependingonthe approach of theteam(s)

  • Facilitating with decision makers, systems owners, and end users toidentifyand resolve systems issues and identifyappropriate changesrequired

  • Supportingproject management processes during the project life cycle

  • Onboarding projects and supporting the team in client engagement and clarifying requirements

  • Ensuringthe release management process for internal delivery of application and system changes into production and FI environments

  • SupportingOperations in production issues and other implementation problem resolutions

WhatYou Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field—or equivalent experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience in aBusinessSystemsAnalyst role

  • Confident working withISO 8583 and ISO 20022 standards

  • Knowledge of Payments Canada’s settlement streams (AFT, LVTS, etc.)

  • Comfortable drivingvarious requirements elicitation techniquesfor an established project(Interviews, prototypes, workshops,systems flow, businessflowsandprocess flows)

  • Experience using requirements definitions and management tools

  • Abilityto leaddifferent requirements methodologies (Use Cases, Unified Modelling Language, etc.)

  • Experience working successfully in an environment involving multiple stakeholders with competing objectives

  • Knowledge of financial services and online and mobile payment technologies (debit and/or credit)

  • Experience with UML, BPMN or other Visual Modeling notations.

  • Knowledge of chip contact and contactless card payments processing (EMV)

  • Working experience with Canadian Payment systems and knowledge of the payments ecosystem: Point of Sale devices (POS), banking machines (ABMs)and various host systems (Acquirer and Issuer)

  • Agile, Scrum, Iterative Waterfall Development foundational knowledge is an asset

  • Comfortable withfraud prevention or cybersecurity domains (nice to have)

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity

The hiringrangefor this position is $90,000 to $105,000, and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, butInterac’scommitment goes beyond compensation.
