Job Description

Fortuna is seeking a Functional Analyst / Product Analyst to support delivery of digital and technology products. This role partners closely with product managers, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into functional requirements, support Agile delivery, and ensure solutions meet user expectations. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, Agile experience, and a product‑focused mindset, with the ability to document requirements, support UAT, and help drive successful product outcomes.

WORKSITE

Hybrid. Candidates must work in the California time zone. Preference for candidates located near Sacramento, CA, with ability to travel if needed.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full‑time, standard business hours aligned to Pacific Time.

PAY RATE

$50.00 per hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Analyze business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements and specifications
  • Write user stories and define acceptance criteria to support Agile product development
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, and reviews
  • Identify requirement gaps, risks, and dependencies and help drive resolution
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by assisting users, validating functionality, and coordinating issue resolution
  • Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platforms
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication and ensure alignment between business needs and delivered functionality
  • Contribute to product problem‑solving with a user‑focused, solution‑oriented mindset
  • Provide input on UI/UX considerations including wireframes, mockups, and usability concepts where applicable

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Consultant supporting digital or technology products
  • Strong understanding of business processes and product functionality with ability to translate needs into requirements
  • Hands‑on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and supporting backlog management
  • Experience supporting UAT including validation, defect logging, and coordination with technical teams
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of project lifecycle and product delivery practices
  • Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Preferred: Experience with design thinking, UI/UX concepts, wireframes, or mockups
  • Preferred: Basic understanding of data analysis, reporting, or metrics to support product decisions
  • Preferred: Experience in the healthcare domain
