Job Description

Job Purpose

Act as the initial West Midlands Conurbation (WMC) Local Resilience Forum (LRF) partner focus for resilience challenges and to deliver project support to the LRF Coordinator (Strategic) to ensure the partnership is prepared to meet the resilience challenges including (but not limited to): coronavirus, winter pressures and severe weather

Provide critical support to and complete multi-agency and LRF plans, training and exercising, risk assessment as required by Sub-group Leads and LRF partners.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and prepare multi-agency & LRF emergency and BC plans,
    meeting the statutory responsibilities of stakeholders
  2. Prepare, deliver and review training and exercises alongside LRF
    partners
  3. Prepare and assist in the work done by the Risk Assessment Working
    Group (RAWG)
  4. Assist the LRF Coordinator (Strategic) in tendering and executing
    projects from the funding schemes and others as identified by the
    partnership
  5. Provide management support to the LRF Support Officer, allocating
    work where possible, and reporting into the LRF Coordinator (Strategic)

Hours & Location

Monday to Friday (0700 - 1500 / 0800 - 1600). A degree of flexibility may be required. In the future, you may be required to be on call.

Hybrid role, which will include working from home and the workplace will be based at C3, Park Lane (B6 5DD). However you may be required to report at any of the partner sites, based within the West Midlands

Interactive Verify G+
Verify Interactive G+ is a cognitive ability assessment designed to assess how you approach different types of problems. It measures general cognitive ability, including three key areas: Deductive Reasoning, Inductive Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning.

The assessment uses engaging, activity-based questions and can be completed on any device, including mobile phones. There are no specific knowledge requirements; it focuses on how you reason and solve problems.

OPQ
The OPQ helps you understand your preferred way of working, including how you typically approach tasks, interact with others and respond to different situations at work.

It is not a test of ability or intelligence, and there are no right or wrong answers. The OPQ32r is designed to provide insight into your workplace preferences and behavioural style.

Interview Date: 1st October 2026 at Centro House, Birmingham, West Midlands

Vetting

Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Security Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.

Medical

Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a hearing test.
