About the role

This varied administration role will see you working across the unit, with a strong focus on data entry, processing a high volume of permits and applications, preparing internal reports, responding to phone enquiries and managing our customer enquiry inbox.

You will be a key point of contact for members of the public and will work closely with a range of departments across Council, building strong relationships and helping ensure enquiries and applications are managed efficiently and professionally. You will be part of a dedicated, hardworking and supportive team who take pride in delivering responsive, high-quality service to the community.

Work type: 2 x Permanent Part Time (45.6hrs & 38hrs per fortnight)

Classification: Band 4 $76,010 pa plus super (pro rata)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Respond to technical enquiries in relation to the Community Safety & Regulation operations and other related activities.
  • Assist in the establishment, development and maintenance of systems and procedures to ensure that the department’s corporate and statutory requirements are met.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of databases.
  • Assist with basic research projects, as requested.

About you

We are looking for an organised, solutions focused and customer oriented professional who enjoys working in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering high quality service.

To be successful in this role, you will bring previous administration experience, along with strong customer service skills and confidence in dealing with members of the public. You will have a keen eye for detail, be comfortable troubleshooting issues and finding practical solutions, and have the initiative to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in an administration role.
  • Well developed research, analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills.
  • High level of customer service skills.
  • Well developed literacy, numeracy and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision in a team environment and to organise and manage own time to achieve targets within a set timetable.
  • Preferred candidates will be require to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process.
