Business Support Management is a function within the Commercial and Investment Bank - Finance & Business Management. The group is responsible for many levels of administrative and control-focused support to our Commercial and Investment Bank businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight and management of Administrative Assistants and general support of day-to-day business functions and controls. The team interacts heavily with multiple lines of business, Business Managers, Commercial and Investment Bank Business Support Management global counterparts, and Internal Business Partners such as Commercial and Investment Bank Expense Management, Business Change Management, Business Controls, Compliance, Human Resources, and Technology.

As an Administrative Assistant Manager – Vice President within Business Support Management, you will be accountable for managing teams of administrative assistants who support one or more lines of business across the APAC region. Your role is crucial in maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and enhancing productivity. You'll lead projects, enforce compliance, and drive strategic initiatives to optimize business processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day team activities and manage coverage
  • Develop and implement meaningful performance metrics
  • Coach and mentor team members; develop team leaders where appropriate
  • Enforce a dynamic control and compliance environment and continually mitigate risk in business processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with internal business partners across multiple lines of business in the region and globally where required
  • Provide thought leadership in strategic direction to improve productivity and leverage
  • Build consensus around key initiatives
  • Lead the performance management process for direct reports and advocate for administrative staff needs
  • Participate in compensation planning
  • Lead and participate in projects to drive the business support agenda, enhance controls, and optimize efficiencies

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a reputable institution
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources, administration, or management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Independent problem-solving skills
  • Customer service or client-facing experience
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to listen well and influence others
  • Organized self-starter who consistently meets deliverables
  • Experience managing people, both directly and at scale

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience managing large cross-location teams
  • Experience in an investment banking or financial services organization
  • Proficiency in multiple languages beyond English, with Chinese/Mandarin preferred
