JLL Design Internship Job Description

Position Overview

The Design Intern will support JLL's design and workplace strategy teams in delivering innovative solutions for commercial real estate projects. This role provides hands-on experience in corporate interior design, space planning, and client-facing project work within a leading global real estate services firm.

Key Responsibilities

Design Support:

Working alongside senior designers and project managers, interns assist with space planning, furniture selection, material specifications, and design documentation. They help prepare client presentations, develop design concepts, and create visual materials that communicate design intent effectively.

Project Coordination:

Interns support multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining project files, tracking deliverables, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors. They participate in client meetings and site visits to understand project requirements and constraints.

Research and Analysis:

Conducting research on workplace trends, design precedents, materials, and products supports the team's design development process. Interns analyze space utilization data and contribute to workplace strategy recommendations.

Technical Documentation:

Using industry-standard software, interns assist in producing drawings, specifications, and presentations. They help maintain design standards and contribute to the development of project documentation throughout all phases.

Qualifications

Education:

Currently enrolled in an accredited interior design, architecture, or related degree program (typically junior or senior year, or graduate student).

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. 3D rendering software experience is a plus.

Core Competencies:

Strong visual communication skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, collaborative mindset, and eagerness to learn. Understanding of interior design principles and building codes is beneficial.

Program Details

Internships duration 3 Months. Interns work full-time in office locations alongside design teams, gaining exposure to real client projects and professional practice within the commercial real estate industry.

On-site –Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
