Welcome to Motel

Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born.

Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.

The role

To support the efficient, accurate, and smooth running of the business by providing reliable operational administrative support, turning data into clear insight that helps directors make better decisions and managing payments in line with financial control.

Main tasks & responsibilities

Business support

• Provide day-to-day operational support to Regional Director (reports, presentations and briefing materials)
• Coordinate and track projects, deadlines, and deliverables
• Maintain business records, documentation, and process guides
• Help identify and implement process improvements

Data analysis

• Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources
• Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
• Analyse trends, variances, and KPIs, and translate findings into clear recommendations
• Run ad hoc analyses to support business questions

Operational and payment administration

• Ensuring correct authorisation before release
• Process other payments in line with approval limits and payment terms
• Support Motel's sustainability initiatives by considering how our practices can improve, actively working in line with the sustainability journey of the business.

About you

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in a business support, analyst, or similar role
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data modelling)
• Strong attention to detail, especially data and reconciliations
• Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining data to non-technical audiences
• Good organisation and time management across competing priorities
• Discretion with confidential and financial/operational information
• Collaborative, with a service-oriented approach
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Curiosity and appetite for continuous learning

Desirable

• Degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with an ERP, accounting, or payments platform (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Xero, Sage)
