We are seeking a Business Solutions Architect with 4-7 years of hands-on experience in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) environments, specifically with Windchill. This role focuses on the development, customization, and maintenance of our Windchill platform across multiple manufacturing sites. You will be responsible for implementing solutions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operation of our PLM ecosystem.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Hands-on customization and extension of Windchill modules
  • Problem diagnosis and resolution of PLM workflows
  • Data management and integration support
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather and implement requirements
  • Continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the PLM team

Core Windchill Development & Maintenance

  • Develop, test, and deploy custom Java extensions, IBA (Instance Business Attributes), and workflows in Windchill
  • Implement and maintain custom utilities, integrations, and automations to enhance PLM functionality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Windchill modules (Configuration Management, Visualization, Part Structures, BOM, etc.)
  • Support data migration and system upgrades
  • Maintain code quality and document technical solutions for team reference

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Understand PLM process gaps and translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Participate in design reviews and provide implementation feedback
  • Document functional and technical requirements clearly

Data & Environment Management

  • Execute database queries, data validation, and data cleanup activities in Windchill
  • Manage environment setup (dev, test, production) and version control practices
  • Maintain Windchill configuration documentation and runbooks
  • Participate in backup and disaster recovery testing

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • 4-7 years of hands-on development or system administration experience in a PLM or ERP environment
  • 3+ years working with Windchill (any version: 10.x, 11.x, or 12.x)
  • Experience with Java/JEE development, Spring Framework, or similar enterprise platforms
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Subversion) and agile methodologies
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and web services integration
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes or product development workflows (a strong plus)
  • Experience with Creo toolkit customization (a strong plus)
  • Experience with Thingworx integration and customization (a strong plus)
  • Experience in Options and variant configuration in windchill

Required Technical Skills

  • Windchill: IBA, workflows, lifecycle states, customization APIs, Java extensions
  • Experience in implementing windchill modules like PDMLink, MPMLink, ESI, SUMA, Partslink.
  • Programming: Java, JSP, Spring Boot, SQL
  • Tools: Git, Maven or Gradle, Postman or similar REST clients
  • Databases: SQL query writing, schema understanding, basic performance tuning
  • Integration: REST APIs, XML/JSON parsing, enterprise integration patterns

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience with Windchill PDMLink and Visualization modules
  • Knowledge of BOM structures, engineering change order (ECO) workflows
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Familiarity with PDSM (Product Data and Structure Management)

Soft Skills

  • Problem-solving: Ability to debug complex issues systematically
  • Communication: Clear documentation and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaboration: Works well in cross-functional teams and supports peer development
  • Learning agility: Eager to expand Windchill knowledge and stay current with platform updates
