Compensation*: $133,560.00 – $163,240.00 USD
*Estimated target starting compensation; final compensation will be determined based on an assessment of an individual’s qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
Benefits: Full-time salaried exempt employees are eligible for Colas Group benefits, as outlined in the plan documents. The Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient IT solutions that support the organization’s strategic objectives. This role plays a critical part in aligning technology architecture with business needs, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency across systems. The Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams to guide modernization, adoption, and integration efforts.
o Design and oversee the implementation of end-to-end solutions that meet security, compliance and performance requirements.
o Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
o Evaluate and select appropriate hardware, software, and integration methods.
o Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, standards, and documentation.
o Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
o Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance across teams.
o Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and recommend improvements/changes.
o Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies, namely AI tools and platforms.
o Provide mentorship to technical teams and support cross-functional collaboration.
o Serve as a Level 3 escalation point for complex system issues, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution support across infrastructure, application, and integration layers.
o Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party solutions.
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. Master’s degree preferred.
o Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction materials industry, including quarries, asphalt plants, ready‑mix plants, and/or liquid terminals
o Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database management.
o Experience working within Agile development methodologies, including the use of JIRA.
o Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in English and French .
o Preferred: Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1).
o Preferred: Experience with industry‑specific manufacturing solutions such as JWS, COMMANDseries, MOBILEsales, COMMANDqc, Stonemont QC, FleetWatcher, TrackIT, and various asphalt and concrete Drum and Batch Plant Control Systems.
o Customer Service Orientation: Delivers excellent support and service to end users.
o Communication & Collaboration: Effectively conveys complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders while fostering collaboration across cross-functional and geographically diverse teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
