Business Services Workplace Facilities Maintenance Technician – JLL

What this job involves:

The Business Services Workplace Facilities Maintenance Technician serves as a dual-function professional combining operational workplace support with hands-on facilities maintenance. In this role, you'll ensure smooth daily operations by managing conference room setups, coordinating workplace services, and performing general maintenance and repairs. This position directly contributes to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional workplace experiences by maintaining safe, functional, and professionally presented environments. You'll support business operations by ensuring facilities are prepared, organized, and operating efficiently while responding promptly to maintenance needs and workplace requests.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Setting up, maintaining, and resetting conference rooms and meeting spaces according to specific layouts and business requirements for meetings, training sessions, and corporate events.

Performing general maintenance tasks including routine repairs, light preventative maintenance, minor carpentry, painting, furniture assembly, and small equipment installations.

Managing packages and mail distribution, ensuring proper handling and delivery to appropriate recipients throughout the facility.

Responding promptly to maintenance requests, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to resolve facility concerns efficiently.

Maintaining accurate documentation for all facility-related services, inspections, maintenance activities, and work orders using facility management systems.

Ensuring all workspaces, meeting rooms, and common areas remain clean, organized, safe, and fully functional for daily business operations.

Supporting health, safety, and compliance initiatives including emergency procedures, safety drills, incident reporting, and identifying potential risks or hazards for escalation.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant office support or facilities experience in a corporate or facilities management environment.

• Demonstrated handyman or maintenance skills with basic knowledge in areas such as carpentry, light repairs, electrical systems, or plumbing.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven service-oriented mindset and ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn facility management or work order systems such as Corrigo.

• Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks, work independently under minimal supervision, and respond quickly to changing needs.

Ability to lift 30 pounds and climb ladders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical training in facilities maintenance, building trades, or related technical disciplines.

• Health and Safety certifications such as First Aid, CPR, Electrical Safety, or Fire Warden training.

• Previous experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order platforms like Corrigo or similar software.

• Trade-related certifications or specialized training in carpentry, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems.

• Experience supporting corporate events, meeting logistics, or conference room technology and audiovisual equipment.

• Knowledge of JLL's safety standards, sustainability practices, and compliance procedures in workplace environments.

Location: Wayne, NJ

Work Shift: 1st Shift

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

52,000.00 – 57,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
