Position Overview:
The Business Services Specialist supports the IDD Services Division, managing administrative and financial functions for the HCS, TxHmL, and GR programs according to the Texas Administrative Code. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Focus: Ensuring all IDD service billings, general ledger transactions, and state/federal allocations balance perfectly according to strict government guidelines.
Client Finance & Coordination: Assist with client financial accounts and serve as a liaison between Social Security and Medicaid.
Accounting Support: Write checks, balance accounts, process weekly bank deposits, and assist with month-end closing procedures.
Billing & Claims Management: Assist with Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) billing, monitor monthly service documents, compare spreadsheet records against monthly claims, and research/correct rejected or denied payments.
Disbursement Verification: Review dental and adaptive aid research alongside accounts payable records to prevent duplicate purchase requisitions and check disbursements.
Audit & Office Prep: Gather necessary documentation during audit seasons, organize physical and digital filing for prior fiscal years, and assist with mail sorting.
Team Collaboration: Complete other tasks delegated by the Chief of IDD Services and the Accounting Manager.
Education & Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Driver's License: Valid Texas Driver’s License required. Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years. Must be insurable on the Center’s insurance.
Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check and complete all MHMR Concho Valley training.
Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work hours other than 8:00-5:00, including nights, weekends, and holidays in support of the program and mission.
