As the Business Services Professional, you will serve as a trusted strategic partner to faculty, fellows, and section leadership, helping to drive initiatives that improve patient care, advance scientific discovery, and strengthen community connections. In this highly collaborative role, you will blend financial stewardship, program coordination, and administrative leadership to ensure the successful operation and growth of the Behavioral Section. From managing budgets and supporting grant submissions to coordinating educational events, developing business proposals, and fostering partnerships with community stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in turning ideas into impact. Key Responsibilities:Business Operations & Program Development Develop and support business proposals and program initiativesAssist with strategic planning and community engagement effortsSupport faculty and fellows in advancing section goals and projects Financial Management Manage section finances, budgets, and funding allocationsMaintain accurate financial records and reportsMonitor expenditures and support funding management activitiesAssist with grant application preparation and submissionPrepare budgets and controls/monitors revenue and expenditure activity for each source of funds in conjunction with department leadership, including adherence to award restrictionsTrack, prepare, and present reports for the department, grant administrators and external stakeholders annually and as requestedGrant SupportResponsible for supporting various grant submissions, while working with the department’s pre and post award teamLiaise with leadership of local and national Behavioral nonprofit groupsCommunicate directly with funding managers, including state, federal, and industry-level sponsorsPrepare budget reports for internal and external constituentsResearch, prepare, manage, and submit grant proposals and reports for future and continued funding of the Behavioral SectionAdvise and collaborate with Behavioral Section faculty leadership on funding source direction as it relates to grant budgets, applications, allowable costs, and budget restrictions Administrative SupportPlan and implement program development initiatives to include faculty recruitment, research expansion, specialty clinic operations, and patient education eventsManage and coordinate provider’s calendars to include recurring meetings, professional consultations, closing clinic schedule during vacation and conference days, etc.Route and track CU Innovations and/or CU Medicine contracts through entire life cycle.Arrange meetings, conferences and travel as needed (i.e., room reservation, agenda, flyer/handout preparation, presenting, taking meeting minutes, flight, hotel and rental care reservations, etc.)Comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of national organizations’ programs, policies, branding standards, and reporting processesComplete all necessary onboarding tasks for CU, UCH, affiliate institutions, and scheduling for academic yearApprove Behavioral clinic schedule for Neurology residents and medical students, and develop fellows rotating schedule with Behavioral Section Outreach and MarketingCultivate and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders including individuals and community organizationsLead community outreach initiative by developing and maintaining approaches to engage and evaluate community needsFacilitate and manage large educational or conference events:Content developmentBudget management and fund solicitation (grants and sponsorships)Organizational logistics (venue, timing, and staffing events)Audit events based on attendee feedback and develop and implement improvements as neededIdentify and facilitate community engagement opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally, audiences include patients, care partners, providers, and interested community membersIdentify, develop, and implement techniques to improve and streamline marketing processesClinical Support Assist in re-credentialing and maintenance of licensure and board certification requirementsWhen needed, interface between patient and provider for schedulingFollow up on patient care issuesInterface with clinic leadership on template building and access improvementDevelop, implement, maintain, and evaluate clinician learner programs to support ongoing Behavioral Section faculty and staff and ensure learners meet their respective program’s competences and expectationsPartner with higher education organizations (CU and non-CU) to develop robust clinician learner internships and experiences within the Behavioral SectionWork closely with leadership to develop project plans for new innovation. This includes defining the problem/opportunity and the scope, objectives, deliverables, risks, strategies, timeline, resources required, project team requirements, tasks and responsibilitiesDelegate project related duties as necessary to administrative staff and students and collaborate with other division and group members to accomplish program and project goals Attend weekly Behavioral Section clinical research and patient care conferences, presenting summary of key administrative updates, grant updates, clinical finance updates, staffing and recruitment updates, and any other information to better improve the Behavioral SectionAcademic SupportProofread, format and prepare manuscripts, grant applications, documents and lettersAssist with reference management in manuscripts and grant applicationsCompile Epic ‘SlicerDicer’ reports of various patient cohorts for research or grant work Other duties as assigned Work Location:Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
