University of Colorado Anschutz Medical CampusDepartment: OphthalmologyJob Title: Business Services Principal Professional – AI Project CoordinatorPosition #00853388 – Requisition #41289 Job Summary:The Project Coordinator will provide project support to the Director of Artificial Medical Intelligence in Ophthalmology and other leaders within the Department of Ophthalmology Division of AI, the central administrative team and department leadership. The position is expected to provide strategic thought leadership to cross functional project teams, stakeholders, and senior leaders while demonstrating a keen eye for the tactical elements of projects. The position partners with Division and Department leadership to identify and evaluate opportunities for efficiency and growth, through pro-active seeking out, prioritizing, and development of initiatives. This position will be responsible for tracking milestones and deliverables across multiple projects within the AI Division, tracking of KPIs and other tactical initiatives with the Division and Department. This position will also work with Division and Department leadership to assess operational needs of the Division and Department. Key Responsibilities:Serves as a liaison with executives and program leaders/data scientists, to ensure that organizational goals are met.Monitors and assists in drafting timelines for implementation of long-range/short-range plans and projectsWorks with division leadership to track grant milestones and deliverables Monitors project portfolio progress, drafting and distributing periodic progress reports for leadership and stakeholders in the form of dashboards.In partnership with the involved researchers, identifies the tasks involved in the project, assigns assets accordingly, and tracks progress toward completion.Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project (particularly tracking FTE allocation for researchers in the AI division across grants and projects).In partnership with PASS and departmental pre-award support personnel, prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.Provides training to department leaders in the project management framework.This description is a summary only and is describing the general level of work being performed, it is not intended to be all-inclusive. Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and (3) years of professional experience managing research of a business unit including project management and working with faculty.Substitution: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment. Preferred Qualifications:3 years of professional level experience in project management.Experience with large-scale project management, strategic planning and/or consultingExperience in healthcare or at an academic medicine research institutionMasters degree or other related advanced degree.Experience using and deploying project management software such as Clickup, Monday, etc.Demonstrated experience executing process improvement or project management within academic healthcare setting/research institution Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Strong project management skills with a self-directed, results oriented aptitude.Must have demonstrated analytical/problem-solving, project management/task planningResponsible to ensure project plans are robust, maintained, and access is available to all necessary.Organization agility, demonstrating ability to influence across levels and functions of the organization.Project portfolio management on an enterprise or strategic planning levelAbility to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.Outstanding customer service skills.
