HASE Business Risk and Resilience under Chief Operating Office (‘COO’)

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Business Risk and Control Manager, reporting to Head of RBW Risk and Control.

Principal responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end support for RBW across Risk & Control, Risk Governance, Risk Advisory, and policy interpretation and implementation, ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes.
• Provide Resilience Risk coverage, including Model Risk Management (MRM) and Deterministic Quantitative Methods (DQM), partnering closely with Hong Kong-based SMEs (e.g., Retail Credit Risk, Model Owners, DAO and IT) to enable effective risk management activity and Line of Business delivery.
• Build strong, proactive partnerships across a wide stakeholder group from RBW Product Heads to working-level colleagues and the COO/CIO Office to align priorities, accelerate decision-making, and drive shared outcomes.
• Operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, confidently managing shifting priorities, emerging risks, incidents, and time-sensitive deliverables while maintaining strong control discipline.
• Drive RBW RMM governance, coordinating and producing bi-monthly, time-critical governance packs, including the First Line Report, ensuring clear narratives, accurate data, and smooth approvals.
• Enable high-quality Regulatory Reporting by facilitating governance, coordinating issue remediation, and supporting attestation processes with the Head of RBW, ensuring timely, complete, and well-evidenced submissions.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified with solid banking/financial services experience and a proven track record in risk and control roles.
• Strong practical expertise in risk identification, assessment and mitigation, including risk assessments, control design and testing/assurance, and issue/action plan management with clear root-cause focus.
• Confident producing and presenting risk MI (e.g., KRIs/KPIs, dashboards, papers) and escalating key risks through appropriate governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to translate complex risk topics for senior stakeholders and varied audiences.
• High ownership mindset with strong judgement, decision-making and critical thinking; able to prioritise and deliver under pressure.
• Professional qualifications such as HKIB ECF and/or HKIB Certified Banker (CB) are an advantage.
