This position will assist in revenue performance monitoring, analysis, and financial optimization of the Business and Revenue portfolio for the City of Charlotte Aviation Department (Charlotte Douglas International Airport). This role will primarily support the agreements under the Concession Program (Food & Beverage, Retail, Advertising, Services, etc.) with an emphasis on billing, reporting and analysis of financial data, but will also assist with other lines of business.

This position requires a critical and independent thinker analyst who can master complex financial structures quickly and provide accurate, fast-turnaround results.

Responsibilities include: monitoring all monies paid to the City from the concession program to ensure compliance with contract terms, maintaining concession performance reports and performing detailed data analysis. Beyond concessions, this role will assist the larger Business & Revenue team with various analytical and administrative tasks as needed.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all contractual required payments, billings, reports and processes associated with financial terms are met and in compliance.

  • Work with tenant stakeholders and partners to develop strong working relationships to ensure that all accounts are properly established and maintained.

  • Review and validate reported sales, MAG (Minimum Annual Guarantee), and percentage rent for accuracy and contractual compliance

  • Review existing concession agreements to assess financial terms, including allowable expenses within profit share calculations, rent structures, escalation clauses, audit rights, and reporting requirements

  • Analyze revenue performance across concession categories, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for growth

  • Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, providing clear root-cause analysis and recommendations

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, models, and reports to track KPIs and support decision-making

  • Support forecasting and budgeting through data-driven insights

  • Recommend enhancements to strengthen financial protections, improve clarity, and align with industry best practices

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires high school degree or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience to include data analysis in either the airport/airline field or a related or applicable field including without limitation government, finance and banking. Familiarity with municipalities and/or airports.

  • Strong preference for a higher degree of learning.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with airports and airline operations and business models is preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Leadership skills with a group or organization preferred by not required.

  • Effective communication and writing skills in communications within a large organization or work group (drafting newsletters, notices, policies, handbooks, etc.).

  • Ability to learn and apply technology/computer skills as necessary.

  • Ability to develop and implement creative new programs and activities.

  • Ability to efficiently multi-task while maintaining personable skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, creativity and innovative thinking in a rapidly changing work environment.

  • Ability to proactively develop solutions to matters that may arise while maintaining an analytical open-minded approach.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

General Information:

  • This position has standard weekday office hours with limited travel. Schedule subject to calls and work during irregular hours, overtime, and emergency calls back to work.

  • Successful candidate must hold valid driver’s license with no more than six points in order to retain a City driving permit.

  • Certain convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Able to access all areas of the terminal facility and airfield when necessary.

  • Sensory requirements include touch, hearing, vision, and speech.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The City’s Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte. The type of information that will be collected as part of a background check includes, but is not limited to: reference checks, social security verification, education verification, criminal conviction record check, and, if applicable, a credit history check, sex offender registry and motor vehicle records check.

Background checks must be in compliance with all federal and state statutes, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The checks must be consistent with the guidelines set forth by these laws requiring organizations to obtain a candidate’s written authorization before obtaining a criminal background report, motor vehicle records check or credit report; and to properly store and dispose of information derived from such reports.

Final candidates must pass a pre-employment drug-screening test and physical examination. During the selection process, candidates may be asked to take a skills test, and/or participate in other assessments.
