Job Description

This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels 13/14/15, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise.

The Business Reporting and Insights Analyst is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway Energy Corporate Reporting and Analysis team and is responsible for the development of various reporting and analysis. The analyst consults with team members on the utilization of various data sources to design and develop reports and presentations that meet required formats or expected standards, as well as suggest schedules for reporting cadence.

Provide continuous updates and insights to all levels of the organization in the form of standard reports and scorecards, ad hoc analysis, strategic plans and forecasts, new technology business cases and advanced analytics insights.

Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operations business scorecard or key performance indicators. Develop and organize performance reports for both internal and external use.

Contribute to the development of short-term and long-range business planning. Performs detailed analysis on a variety of issues in support of and to facilitate budgetary decision making and provides summary analysis and recommendations to management.

Assist with special projects including research, gathering and validating data, modeling and economic analysis and summarizing results for management.

Provide support for key executive reviews including deck preparation, data collection/analysis and consolidation.

Develop metrics and reporting, prepare and present data, gather and maintain project information for multiple projects.

Provide analytical and operational support to the business unit.

Recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.

Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Bachelor's degree in business, communications, finance or accounting, or related field. (Typically, four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)

Between zero and two or more years of relevant work experience, or at least one year of full-time experience with proven success in completing complex projects with validated results required for the business reporting and insights analyst level.

Effective complex analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills necessary to interpret economic, financial and accounting information as well as other statistical data, information or events in order to perform analysis, draw proper conclusions and make recommendations for action.

A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Ability to interface with executive management.

Advanced software skills in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
