Talcott creatively designs and expertly delivers responsive solutions that transfer risk and manage capital in a way that supports the strategic needs of insurers today and into the future.
Talcott Financial Group has a proven track record of well-executed transactions, and the enterprise benefits from its strong financial position with over $127 billion in assets under management, its investment-grade financial strength ratings, and its partnership with Sixth Street, a leading global investment firm.
Talcott Financial Group’s two core business platforms include: U.S. based Talcott Resolution and Bermuda and Cayman based Talcott Re.

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will serve as a key liaison between Talcott’s Distribution team, internal Operations, and the back offices of Independent Marketing Organizations (IMOs). The position is open to remote work or hybrid in-office arrangement.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison for escalated operational concerns from IMO back offices, coordinating resolution of high-impact issues related to processing, compensation, and contracting.
• Build and maintain strong operational relationships with IMO partners, serving as a key point of coordination between external partners and internal teams.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, New Business, Licensing & Appointments, Commissions, and Technology to drive operational efficiency across the distribution experience.
• Educate IMO partners on Talcott’s service model, operational procedures, turnaround times, and digital tools.
• Identify patterns in service issues and recommend process improvements to enhance the partner experience.
• Partner with Relationship Managers and Sales Leadership to align operational strategy with broader account management goals.
• Support the onboarding and training of new distribution partners, including systems access, workflow orientation, and operational enablement.
• Participate in business process improvement initiatives and cross-functional working groups as a subject matter expert on distribution operations.
• Travel occasionally to attend IMO site visits or industry conferences

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the insurance or financial services industry, preferably in annuity operations, case management, or relationship management.
• Strong knowledge of independent distribution, IMO models, and annuity business processing.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex service issues across organizational boundaries.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word); experience with CRM systems and workflow management tools is preferred.
• Note* This position shall require 25% travel within the U.S.

Compensation:

This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
