A little more about your role…

The Rating team at WSP is a highly skilled and specialised group, dedicated to providing exceptional Rating and Valuation services to clients in the commercial real estate sector. With an in-depth understanding of the complex rating landscape, our team combines extensive industry knowledge with strategic insights to deliver accurate and insightful assessments.

We pride ourselves on our ability to navigate changing regulations and market conditions, providing clients with the expertise they need to optimise their property portfolios and minimise their tax liabilities.

With a proven track record of excellence and a commitment to delivering results, the Rating team at WSP GL Hearn is the trusted partner that clients turn to for comprehensive and reliable rating services.

If you are keen to join a successful UK-wide team, with its already thriving client base, we are looking for you to:

  • To provide bespoke business rates advice to a host of commercial sector clients.
  • To work with the Strategic Growth Director to further build on our reputable client base in this sector, across a variety of different types of operation.
  • To manage and grow your own client base and case load with a view to taking on more responsibility with increased experience.
  • Developing excellent business relationships with new and existing clients and to implement rates savings strategies via appeals and mitigation.
  • Carry out site visits as required, as part of providing overall strategic business rates advice to clients.
  • To integrate fully in the wider WSP network, and to develop relationships with key WSP team members to leverage opportunities.

Experience in working in Business Rates is essential.

We'd want to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Excellent knowledge of the UK rating market.
  • Knowledge and experience of a range of sector valuations for Rating purposes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • An entrepreneurial attitude to business development.
  • Experience in pro-activity and enjoy working autonomously and as part of a wider team.
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, MS Outlook) familiarity with Rating software Analyse is beneficial.
  • MRICS qualification.
  • Detailed knowledge of rating legislation and case law.
  • Good general surveying and inspection skills.
