The Business Process Owner (BPO) for capacity and supply network strategic planning is custodian of the RCCP standard global process and related definition in close collaboration with Industrial Engineering global team. This role is responsible for the implementation and governance of the capacity utilization projection processes (RCCP feeding S&OP+ – GNM feeding IVCP), continuously improving the visibility and robustness of our capacity utilization analysis to support decisions with the necessary granularity, assumptions and providing end-to-end visibility on capacity vs demand across all horizons through consolidated analytics and “capacity control tower” reporting used as the single source of truth for capacity utilization.
This role also develops the beyond 3 years projection of demand evolution assumptions (Volume – complexity) with business insights and consolidate capacity development projects with Industrial Engineering Planning to improve our strategic visibility on capacity requirements and options supporting Industrial Engineering team in production capacity development plans. This includes developing with Industrial engineering the necessary data and capabilities to simulate options processing costs, line capabilities and impact on service, efficiency, resilience, sustainability and overall supply network performance.
The BPO acts as the global owner of the production capacity planning over the entire horizon, ensuring global alignment with key stakeholders and contributors, enabling world-class ways of working, develop and deliver training, lead deployment and adoption (ownership) of the sites and regions while driving adoption of planning technologies, analytics, and best practices across all business groups, regions, and manufacturing facilities.
Global Process Ownership for Production capacity management processes (RCCP + long term)
Custodian of the process compliance and quality of production capacity data – IE being custodian of the capacity data
Secure the vision of Production capacity vs Demand with a single source of truth to ensure reliability of information and proposals for decision forums in plan to govern processes (S&OP+, AEP, IVCP) and supply network optimization forums (SNOC)
Drive adoption of standard capacity management processes, including data and tools, scenario and assumptions management
Enable scenario-based decision support through simulations and what-if analysis
Responsible to improve a trusted, standardized and consolidated measure of capacity utilization (Global heatmap) and related single repository reporting
Identify process design and compliance gaps and coordinate with key contributors and BPOs how to close gaps in close collaboration with Mars MSE and other functions.
Control Tower & Decision Support
Provide end-to-end visibility on capacity vs demand across all horizons through consolidated analytics and reporting
Act as the single source of truth for capacity utilization, enabling real-time and forward-looking decision making
Develop and maintain the global capacity management process framework, standards, related policies, and operating guidelines, including definitions with Industrial engineering and planning rules.
Serve as the single point of accountability for the global capacity management & reporting framework, methods, documentation, and governance (process adherence, performances and maturity development)
Ensure a structured integration of long-term strategies and business evolutions as well as robust assumptions management, scenario-based decision support through simulations and what-if analysis
Monitor performance, risks, and opportunities across the supply network and escalate key insights to decision forums (S&OP+, SNOC)
Consensus & Stakeholder Alignment
Challenge and align consensus in a multicultural environment.
Support strategic trade-off discussions linked to capacity vs demand balancing considering network configuration and business evolution.
Collaborate with regional stakeholders to integrate Supply network evolutions as well as risks and opportunities
Change Management & Training
Drive change adoption and capacity management standardization across all factories and regions.
Contribute to develop related training materials, process documentation, and capability frameworks for global and regional teams.
Support onboarding as well as maturity assessment and development for capacity management.
